Underwater Temperature Probes

[ As of February 7, 2025 ]

Idea:

Measuring water temperature at depth is nothing new. But what if we could transmit that data to a website, allowing divers to check the temperature at specific depths before deciding on the appropriate exposure protection?
This experiment is being conducted in coordination with the Midwest Underwater Explorers and the Project Baseline initiative. It's essentially a Citizen Scientist activity of a bunch of volunteers who have a passion for scuba diving and the water in which we dive. If you would like to get involved you should join the Midwest Underwater Explorers Facebook Page and watch for opportunities to dive with us. Some of the Project Baseline dives require GUE Fundies certification given the depth or complexity of the dive, but most-if not all-of the dives in the local quarries should be open to all recreational divers.

We Have Data!!!
