I DO NOT WORK FOR DAN. I AM NOT AN INSURANCE AGENT. I AM NOT A LAWYER. I DO NOT PLAY ONE ON TV.
Is DAN an insurance company?
No. Think of DAN like your local Costco. You pay a membership fee for some basic services and then you have the OPTION to buy additional things, like insurance, at a lower cost than you could get without the membership.
I should be good with my employer provided health insurance right?
There is a 99% probability the answer is no. Most health insurance plans exclude coverage when participating in "adventure sports". Check all the small print in your health insurance plan if you think you are covered.
How much does Dive Accident Insurance cost?
It depends on how much coverage you want and what state you live in. I live in Illinois and I have the highest level (Guardian) which cost me $126.50 per year. It's literally the cheapest insurance I have and the highest coverage insurance I have of any other insurance plan I own. (eg. car, home, health, dental, etc)
Do I Need Dive Accident Insurance?
I don't know...that's up to you. Do you have car insurance? Do you have health insurance? The vast majority of people will say yes, but there will be some who think it's stupid or a scam. Given the price for Dive Insurance(~$10/month)...it seems dumb not to have it. But that's my risk calculation.(which funny enough...is my profession)
