Things to Know
- Privately owned and operated and strictly focused on diving
- Considered by many to be the worst visibility of the other two local dive locations. Nothing wrong with diving here...just not as good as the others. This is likely due to the overall size of the quarry and the number of people who dive. Literally 3x or more divers than Pearl and probably 20x more divers than Three Oaks on any given weekend so the particals in the water are horrendous.
- Open generally dawn to dusk April to September and then October on the weekends only
- $25/day to dive, no parking fee
- During the heat of summer, temps in the low 70s in most of the areas, dropping to low 60s around 45ft and then falls off like a rock in the deep hole. Most people wearing at least a 5mm. 7mm or Drysuit is highly recommended if using any of the areas outside of the shallows.
- A basic scuba shop on site with rentals available and air-fills while you wait
- The blue gill are lethal and I've seen more than one person come up with skin tags missing and bleading from those little bliters
Diving Activities
- Nice and easy sloping sand/gravel area near the main dive entry location
- Plenty of space to setup tables, chairs, BBQs, etc
- Many many many local dive shops use Haigh Quarry for training
- Many groups and shops setup local day trips as well. Get on their mailing lists and Facebook pages to monitor when. At least the following...
- Average depth is going to be around 20ft, but has a "deep hole" of ~70ft
- Several different attractions to see, but given that visibility can literally be down to 5ft or less...you may not be able to get the entire picture. I nearly crashed into the rock crusher last time I dove in the afternoon at Haigh with 2-3 ft visibility after morning classes of probably 40 people.

Dive Map as of who knows...
- No recent or readable, let alone high quality, maps exist that I can find
- The key thing to note is that the north side of the lake is usually silted out from Open Water training divers. You may have better visibility on the south side.
- The various attractions are NOT well marked so a hunting you will go
