Mares Genius + AI - Dive Computer

General Opinion: It's an absolute beast on your wrist. That's both a pro and a con. The text and screen are large and bright and a dive buddy or two have commented about how they can see me from miles away under water. The con is that my arm can get stuck on the shoulder straps when I'm trying to doff my gear. The button interface is not as intuitive as you would think, and the software is not being actively maintained and improved by Mares. If I had to do it over again, I would have gone with Shearwater...and I eventually did. But it works perfectly fine.

Dive Rite Mini 2" SPG

  • Easy to read with 100-psi increments
General Opinion: It's a backup SPG for my main one, it works fine...nothing special.

Santi Hood (11mm) - XL

General Opinion: Does not fit my face/head correctly so is uncomfortable to wear

Aqualung Superzip Boots (5mm) - Size 12

General Opinion: So far they have worked just fine. My feet have never been cold and they are holding up just fine. When walking over gravel the soft sole is a little unstable so I've invested in different boots for that.

DUI Rock Boot (Size 12)

  • Has VERY long shoelace which can be a hassle
  • Great stability
General Opinion: The long shoelaces are a royal pain in the butt. The boot provides excellent stability out of the water, but likely limits the ankle flexibility when kicking in the water.

Deep6 Eddy "Flippers" (XL - White)

  • Slightly Negatively Buoyant
General Opinion: They work fine, but not as flexible at the OMS Slipstream fins. I use them as backups to the Slipstream fins or when I'm looking for a technical fin to wear with my wetsuits.

Sharkskin T2 (Top & Bottom) size XXL

  • Good for me down to ~68F
  • Neutral Buoyancy
General Opinion: The top is perfectly fine, but I don't like diving in the bottoms. In the water everything feels fine, but once you get out of the water you are basically walking around in a saggy pajama bottom because the water all drops to the bottom of your legs and you have 10lbs of water boots until you can bend over and open the cuff. They take twice as long as my traditional wetsuits to dry. And, lastly...their customer service has been absolutely horrible.

Dive Rite - Bellows Thigh Pocket

General Opinion: I had this before I purchased Tech Shorts. It works fine, but a little cumbersome to get in/out of them because of the thigh strap.
