My Scuba Gear for Surface Support

Not everything happens on or in the water. I use various equipment before and after the dive to keep me safe, warm and protect my expensive gear.

This page reflects my personal experience and preferences based on my diving style, training, and the conditions I dive in. Gear selection is highly individual, and what works for me may not be ideal for everyone. If you're unsure about equipment choices, I always recommend testing different options in real diving conditions before making a decision.

DNA Nitrox/Oxygen Analyzer

Divesoft - DNA Nitrox/Oxygen Analyzer

I've used the Divesoft DNA Analyzer for a full year as my primary tool for analyzing Nitrox fills. It has been with me across quarry dives, day boats, and coastal trips, and has proven consistently reliable. While it does require a smartphone to view readings, the app works without internet access and has never let me down. The analyzer runs on a single CR2450 coin cell battery, which has lasted through a full year of regular use without replacement.

The Original Water Parka

SurfFur - The Original Water Parka

After two years of quarry and boat diving, the Surf Fur Water Parka has become my go-to barrier against wind and spray. It keeps me warm between dives, dries quickly, and its pass-through pockets make wetsuit changes simple.
