Diving with The Dive Otter

Want to Dive Together?
If you're looking for a fun, casual dive buddy, I'm always happy to meet other divers! This isn't a training opportunity—I'm not an instructor—but if you're a certified diver who wants to explore the water, you're welcome to join me on a dive.
Who Can Join?
- You must be Open Water certified (or higher).
- You must have dove within the last 12 months—please don't use me as a replacement for a refresher course. I am not an instructor.
Where Do I Dive?
I primarily dive in the Midwest and often frequent:
- Three Oaks Recreation Area (Crystal Lake, IL)
- Pearl Lake (South Beloit, IL)
- Lake Michigan (wreck diving with Double Action Charters)
With sufficient time for planning, we could also arrange a trip to:
- Gilboa Quarry (Ohio)
- Mermet Springs (Southern Illinois)
- Cenote diving in Tulum, Mexico
- Drift diving in Cozumel, Mexico
- Key Largo, Florida
I also travel at least once a year for diving, typically with Crystal Blue Diving. If you're on one of their trips, I'm happy to be your dive buddy!

Equipment & Expectations
- You do not need to own your own gear—I can help you find a local shop for rentals.
- All gear (including the gear you borrowed from your uncle) must be in working order and serviced within the last 24 months.
- No, I do not have extra gear you can borrow.
Just a Fun Dive
This is not a class, not a guided experience, and not a training session—just a fun dive with another certified diver. If that sounds good, let's dive!
