Getting There

Double Action Dive Charters runs out of Hammond Marina in Hammond, IN, near the Horseshoe Casino. The marina entrance is not obvious once you reach the casino complex, so follow the steps and map below.

  • From Chicago, turn right at the large Horseshoe Casino sign.
  • Follow the road around and over the bridge.
  • As you descend the ramp, look for a small brown sign that says "Marina →". Make a sharp right turn or U-turn.
  • Continue to the guard gate at the end of the road.
  • Tell the guard you are here for Double Action Dive.
  • The guard will hand you a dashboard pass and direct you to make a U-turn.
  • Drive past the Marina Port Building and park in the last rows of the lot before you reach the casino.

Once You Get There

  • Park close to the entry and grab a complimentary dock cart.
  • Load your dive gear into the cart, including tanks.
  • Lock your car, walk through the entry, then turn right to the end of the first dock.
  • Restrooms are behind the viewpoint in the photo, farther down the dock in a small blue building.

The Boat

  • Dock entry: Port side (left when facing forward).
  • Water entry: Starboard side (right when facing forward).
  • Water entry method: Giant stride (big drop).
  • Water exit: Stern (back of the boat).
  • Water exit method: "Christmas tree" ladder, fins on.
  • Tag and pull lines are in the water; use them.
  • Galley area with small tables and benches; upper deck available.
