My Recommendation

  • If you don’t need warmth and you're not concerned about chafing, wear Lycra socks—they dry fast and make wetsuits easier to put on.
  • If you do need extra warmth or you are concerned about chafing, go for neoprene socks.
I personally recommend the WetSox brand. I do not like the short / ankle socks sold by most scuba brands as they tend to slide down my ankle or are designed as "one size fits nobody" style. The WetSox versions are calf height.
