Atomic Venom Frameless Mask Review

Venom Frameless Mask

High-clarity frameless mask with exceptional comfort and prescription lens compatibility. Excellent fit for larger faces. Neoprene strap upgrade and bifocal lenses make it my primary mask, with a second non-Rx version always carried as a backup.

Overall Score: 8.9 / 10

The Atomic Venom Frameless mask has been my go-to dive mask for both prescription and non-prescription setups. I had one fitted with bifocal lenses by SeeTheSeaRx.com and upgraded the strap to a neoprene version for easier donning. I carry a second non-Rx version in my right pocket on every dive as my backup mask. I’ve used both extensively in cold Midwest quarries, warm Caribbean water, and inside cenotes.

Yes. I had mine fitted with custom bifocal lenses by SeeTheSeaRx.com and the results were excellent. No distortion or seal issues.

If you value clarity and comfort, yes. The UltraClear lens and soft skirt perform better than cheaper masks I’ve tried, especially on longer dives.

Wide and unobstructed. It provides excellent peripheral awareness and vertical visibility without distortion.

Yes. The skirt fits my larger face comfortably and seals well even with a little facial hair.

I carry a second non-prescription Venom Frameless in my right pocket. It’s bulkier than some low-profile options but I trust the seal and performance completely.

Pros & Cons

Comfortable nose pocket and easy to equalize
Custom prescription lens install works flawlessly

Why I Chose Atomic Venom Frameless

I was looking for a high-quality prescription dive mask that wouldn’t fog, leak, or distort my vision. I wear bifocals on land and needed underwater correction that wouldn’t compromise field of view. I chose the Venom Frameless because SeeTheSeaRx.com stocks them and other reviews had said positive things. All I did was replace the strap with a neoprene one, and never looked back. It became my main mask instantly, and I bought a second one to use as my backup.

Verdict

This is the best mask I’ve owned. It’s comfortable, reliable, and works perfectly with prescription lenses. The field of view and clarity are perfect, and the skirt is both soft and secure. I can tell that it does take up more room than some frameless masks, but I trust it and I have room for it in my pockets.

Would I buy it again? Yes...and I already did. I carry a second one as my backup.

My Custom Setup or Configuration

I’ve configured this mask to match my actual diving needs with two key modifications that make a big difference underwater.

No issues with seal or distortion from the lens install. The neoprene strap makes a huge difference during cold-water dives where dexterity is limited or for anyone with hair that gets caught in the traditional straps.
