What is the difference between scuba and snorkeling?
Snorkeling keeps you on the surface, breathing through a tube while you look down at the underwater world. Scuba diving uses a tank of compressed gas and a regulator so you can breathe and move freely below the surface for extended periods. Both let you explore the water, but scuba requires training, certification, and specialized gear to manage depth and pressure safely.
The key difference is access. Snorkelers see what is near the surface, while divers can descend to reefs, wrecks, and other environments beyond reach from above. Scuba also demands more control over buoyancy, breathing, and equipment. That extra complexity is what allows you to experience the quiet, weightless world that snorkelers can only glimpse from above.
